PMD: Heart in the Sky: Part 10: The First Fight

"I can't believe you did it again, Isaac." Sparkle snapped, when they returned to the Guild, late at night and they reached the ground floor.

They were ruffled and really tired from their mission, which they failed so many times trying to retrieve the pearl for the Spoink.

Isaac gripped his paws into a fist, growling. Then Olan walked up to them and greeted, "How was-"

"It wasn't MY fault!" Isaac shouted at Sparkle, not seeing or hearing Olan coming up. "I was trying to fight off the enemies YOU were running from! We have to fight to level up, Sparkle! How else will you get stronger?!"

"I was trying to find the exit!" Sparkle snapped back. "So we know where to go if we got lost! It's not my fault I can't fight as well as you! I'm doing my best, but it's hard to get use to a body you just happen to wake up in!"

"You seemed fine yesterday when we were in Beach Cave!" Isaac shouted. "I don't see what the problem is!"

"Everything is rushing, Isaac. I'm trying my best to keep up, but it's hard when you're learning so many things at one time and trying to get used to it!"

"We failed over 10 times because you were slow!"

"I wasn't the one who FAINTED over 8 times in the dungeon!"

Isaac snapped, "Well, maybe you're just not good enough to be my partner, Sparkle! You should have been helping me, instead you ran off and not help! Maybe it would have been best if I just signed up alone!"

Sparkle flinched and was hurt. She felt angry, but yet she felt sadness forming up. How darn Isaac yell at her when she was trying to help. She just wasn't fast enough to reach him. How dare he say he would be better off without her. But if that's what he wanted, then Sparkle could deal with that.

"Fine!" Sparkle's voice cracked and she felt tears forming in her eyes. "Then I'll go! No wonder no Pokémon wants to be your partner! You have no patients when all they're trying to do is do their best!"
